The awarded Science and Me”project marks the third phase of collaboration between Macedonia2025 and Johnson Matthey, aiming to strengthen STEM education in North Macedonia. This cycle focuses on training and mentoring 60 early-career science teachers (grades 5–9), along with a smaller number of teachers from grades 1–5, equipping them with engaging, hands-on teaching practices and sustained support through a structured mentorship program.

Key activities include:

  • 2 interactive workshops for early-career science teachers;
  • Mentorship pairing with experienced science educators;
  • 2–3 regional science fairs, with a kickoff event to launch the new grant;
  • Field visits to the Johnson Matthey plant in Skopje and regional research centers;
  • A “Science for the Future” campaign promoting STEM careers and role models;
  • A small-scale research study measuring changes in teacher motivation, confidence, and the use of innovative teaching methods before and after project activities.

The project will directly impact over 2,000 students, with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion, particularly among girls, ethnic minorities, and students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds—ensuring broader access to quality science education across Macedonia.
